I am a registered nurse, midwife and acupuncturist. I worked for nine years as a senior lecturer in midwifery at Auckland University of Technology (AUT). Since 1998 I have worked as an acupuncturist, specialising in women’s health, pregnancy, IVF support, and male and female fertility. I have acupuncture clinics in Auckland and on Waiheke Island.

My study of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) was undertaken in New Zealand and in China. I have taught the obstetric component of the TCM post-graduate diploma to acupuncture students at AUT. I currently supervise clinical practice for students from this programme.

In 2005 I completed a Masters in Health Science. My thesis explored and described women’s experiences of acupuncture for threatened preterm labour.

I have presented at midwifery, physiotherapy, medical and complementary therapy conferences in Auckland, Dunedin, Sydney and Brisbane.

I integrate Western and Eastern philosophies and provide research-based holistic care. Health to me means a harmonious balance of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
